Together shells out 250 Easter eggs to charity
Leading specialist lender Together has donated over 250 chocolate eggs to two local charities ahead of the Easter bank holiday weekend after running a colleague collection drive.
The 258 Easter eggs were collected in just one week at the company’s Cheadle headquarters, as part of the lender’s ‘Let’s get caring’ initiative to give back to the local community.
The collection was held in aid of two local charities of St. Ann’s Hospice and Francis House Children’s Hospice. St. Ann’s Hospice will be using its donated eggs in its fundraising Easter egg hunt at Wythenshawe Park on April 15th, whilst Francis House Children’s Hospice will be giving its treats to the children and families that use its services.
Kevin Fisher, HR director at Together, said: “Our colleagues have really got behind our Easter egg collection and we’re delighted with the number of donations to support these two great causes.
“We also pledged to donate £2 for every egg received, so we have also raised £516, which will be shared between the two charities.”
Peter Forster from Francis House Children’s Hospice said: “Being able to gift our families and their children chocolate eggs this Easter weekend will be a fantastic way to treat those using our service over the bank holiday. We’re extremely grateful for the support we receive from local businesses including Together.”
Hannah Saunders from St. Ann’s Hospice added: “Our annual fundraising Easter Egg hunt was a huge success last year. Thanks to the donations from Together we can make this year’s event even bigger and better for local families, raising even more donations to help fund the hospice’s running costs.”
‘Let’s get caring’ is part of the company’s wider ‘Let’s make it count’ initiative which spans charity, community and the environment.
