EE recruitment drive to bring over 400 new job opportunities to the North East

Mobile operator EE has launched a recruitment drive which will see it hire over 800 contact centre advisers for its sites across the UK, with the North East set to be one of the chief beneficiaries.

Currently employing more than 1,500 people at its North Tyneside Centre and over 2,000 at its Darlington site, EE plans to bolster the former by 185 people while around 145 people will be recruited to the latter. Moreover, 90 new jobs are planned for Doxford.

EE, which recently became the first UK mobile operator to bring back all customer service calls to the UK and Ireland, has a strong mandate for improving British job opportunities.

Creating over 1,000 new jobs in 2016 alone, this year’s recruits will fill advisory positions in Methyr Tydfil, Greenock, Plymouth, as well as at the three North East sites.

EE says that the roles will also give successful applicants the opportunity to benefit from its training programmes, which will allow them to develop new skills while paving the way to opportunities to develop and progress within the business.

EE also ranked third in The Sunday Times’ Best Companies to Work For survey, thanks to high scores for management and team work, and was also ranked in the top five in the annual School & College Leavers 2016-17 Awards.
