Hainan Airlines to operate Manchester Airport services with Boeing 787 Dreamliner

Hainan Airlines has revealed plans to run its services between Manchester and Beijing with the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

From next month, the Chinese carrier will use its flagship aircraft to operate the route.

Hainan’s 787s feature 36 flatbed seats in business class and 177 seats in economy.

The airline said passengers using the service will benefit from a quieter cabin and better cabin pressure.

In March, Hainan revealed plans to ramp up the frequency of its Manchester flights from four to five per week.

The general manager for Hainan Airlines in Manchester, Loic Gao, said: “We are very excited to see our very first Dreamliner landing at Manchester Airport from the 1st of May.

“Having announced our increased frequency, it makes perfect sense to operate the Manchester route with our flagship aircraft.”

The airport’s commercial director, Stephen Turner, commented: “It’s great news that Hainan Airlines will be using their flagship aircraft on the Beijing service.

“Coupled with the news that they will be increasing frequency, it’s testament to how successful the route has been performing.”

The airline’s expanded service will run from June 1.
