New Directors join growing construction team
The North East division of ambitious developer Galliford Try Partnerships, has bolstered its plans for growth in the region with the appointment of two senior people.
Dave Brown, from Low Fell, has joined as Operations Director and Tracy Iles, from Darlington, has taken up a role as Sales Director.
They are also joined by four more new employees who have started work at the business which has enjoyed a period of unprecedented expansion in the region.
Dave Brown has over 21 years of experience in the construction sector. He says: “After completing a degree in Building Management at Northumbria University in the late 1990s, I started work as Assistant Site Manager for a national regeneration contractor - alongside which, I was able to study Project Management to Masters Degree level. Over almost two decades, I worked with and progressed through the company to eventually become Operations Manager.
“I felt that it was time for a change and this new role offers a great opportunity for me to progress in the sector with a company that has all of the right ingredients in place to deliver growth and success. Being from Gateshead myself, I have had a keen interest in the borough’s regeneration partnership of which Galliford Try is part. I’m now looking forward to actually becoming involved in delivering these exciting new projects.
“Long-term, I hope to become an integral part of delivering on the business’ aspirations for growth and success across the North East region and beyond.”
Tracy moved into the housing sector fifteen years ago from a high flying role as the Regional Manager of an airline.
Initially working for a company that delivered MOD housing for the Army and Air Force, she then took up a role as a Field Sales Manager with a well-known developer, with whom she progressed to a Sales and Marketing Director role - working out of the organisation’s headquarters in York.
Tracy’s previous job saw her return to the North East as Senior Sales Manager with another well-established developer but she is now looking forward to a new challenge with Galliford Try Partnerships North East.
She said: “I’m excited by the challenge of joining such a large and ambitious business. I’m looking forward to helping the company grow in the region and to improve our market share by highlighting the brand and the quality of the product we deliver.
“This will include working with partner organisations on joint ventures but also becoming heavily involved with new home business - Linden Homes - which will be building around 300 new homes on 7 sites over the next 12 months.”
Working with North East Housing providers, over the past four years Galliford Try Partnerships has secured a string of prestigious projects and grown annual turnover from just over £8 million to an almost £60 million. Linden Homes, Galliford Try’s housebuilding division has played a big role in this success.
