Taylor&Emmet probate team welcomes expert duo
Sheffield’s Taylor&Emmet LLP is further expanding its extensive private client department with the addition of two specialist solicitors.
The firm has appointed Richard Barlow and John Tunnard to its probate and contentious probate teams respectively, to meet demand from clients and ambitious growth targets.
Partner, Richard Barlow, joins Taylor&Emmet from Banner Jones in Chesterfield. He handles all wills and probate matters, including tax planning and brings more than 18 years’ experience to the firm. He said: “The opportunity to work with such respected colleagues was too good to pass up and so far, it has exceeded expectations. This is the perfect place to reconnect with my Sheffield contacts and progress within a department that is developing rapidly.”
Contentious probate solicitor, John Tunnard, worked previously at Sills and Betteridge’s Lincoln and Nottingham offices, handling a range of private client work. At Taylor&Emmet, he will be focusing on inheritance, will and trust disputes, offering assistance to both trustees, executors and disappointed beneficiaries wishing to challenge the distribution of assets.
Richard King, head of Taylor&Emmet’s probate team, said: “We have bold expansion plans this year, as we seek to become the largest private client firm in Yorkshire and the Humber and these latest appointments are significant steps towards achieving this goal. Richard and John are extremely professional, knowledgeable solicitors with excellent track records for their quality of work and customer service, virtues we value very highly.”
Both Richard and John will be based at Taylor&Emmet’s Arundel Gate headquarters in Sheffield and follow hot on the heels of the latest addition to the probate team, Ben Brown, who was appointed in February and specialises in complicated intestacy cases.
