Princes team to tackle Three Peaks Challenge
A team of volunteers from food and drink group Princes will undertake the Yorkshire Three Peaks Trek in aid of Claire House Children’s Hospice on 4th May.
The 24 mile-long walk and climb, which takes on the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough and includes 5,200ft (1,585m) of ascent, will start and end in Horton-in-Ribblesdale and is intended to be completed within 12 hours.
Wirral-based Claire House Children’s Hospice, which provides specialist nursing care and emotional support to seriously and terminally ill children and their families, is Princes chosen charity for the challenge.
“This will be a tough and demanding experience for the team, but hopefully one that will be a lot of fun as well. We are very proud of our colleagues for volunteering to undertake this challenge to raise money for Claire House” said Ruth Simpson, Group Corporate Relations Director at Princes
Claire House’s staff includes nurses, physiotherapists, play specialists and counsellors. Four dedicated doctors also visit the hospice. It currently supports approximately 400 families at Clatterbridge Hospital, Bebington, Wirral and has recently acquired a second site in Liverpool.
Beth Pochin, Corporate Fundraiser for Claire House Children’s Hospice, said: “For every child Claire House currently cares for, we know there’s one family we aren’t reaching.
“We’re so delighted to be supported by Princes in this incredible challenge. The money the team raises means we are a step closer to providing care and support to every serious and terminally ill child that needs us.”
