Tottenham Hotspur stadium update: Latest milestone as new West Stand takes shape

Premier League football club Tottenham Hotspur have released new images of the ongoing development at their new 61,000-seater stadium showing the North, East and West corners almost fully formed.

The distinctive bowl shape of the North London club’s new ground is now fully visible with work beginning last month on the new South West corner.

Work cannot begin on the new South Stand until the club have fully vacated White Hart Lane, at which point their historic home will be demolished to make way for the impressive new 17,000 seater kop-style stand, which will be the biggest in UK.

When exactly that will be is still up for debate as Tottenham are still yet to confirm whether or not this season will indeed be their last at the ground they have called home for just shy of 120 years.

Brent Council have approved an application for Spurs to potentially play all of their home games at Wembley next season, but the club’s hierarchy has remained tight-lipped about plans, with Chairman Daniel Levy claiming that a decision would only be made once the construction timeline was certain.

Earlier this year, the club also submitted a planning application to slightly increase capacity at the new ground, which will be the biggest in London when it opens, bringing the potential full attendance at their new stadium to 61,559.
