Lloyd Newcastle BMW toy donation to St Oswald's
Lloyd Newcastle MINI has donated 200 cuddly rabbit toys to children at St Oswald’s Hospice.
The team at Lloyd collected the warren of bunnies for a competition at Close House golf club, Heddon-on-the-Wall. Families were asked to guess how many toy rabbits were in the boot of a new MINI Clubman to win Easter goodies.
With the end of the Easter holidays, the soft toys have all found a new home with youngsters at St Oswald’s, Gosforth.
Chris Longster, Brand Manager at Lloyd Newcastle MINI, said: “We were delighted to be able to make this donation to St Oswald’s, which provide such vital and compassionate care to help children with life-shortening conditions, as well as supporting their families.
“We wanted to show the boot capacity in the new MINI Clubman by hosting a fun competition. But we didn’t want all of these bunnies to go to waste, so we’re thrilled they have found such a fantastic new home.”
Lucy Smith, Senior Fundraiser at St Oswald’s, said: “We really appreciate donations like this one from Lloyd. The toys can help to provide companionship and comfort to children while they’re here, and the arrival of dozens of bunnies certainly brightened up everyone’s day.”
Lloyd Newcastle, based on Barrack Road, is part of the family-owned Lloyd Motor Group. St Oswald’s gives care to children and adults, as well as supporting their families and providing advice to healthcare professionals.
