Family-run HR business expands into training sector after doubling turnover
A Darlington-based human resources and health and safety company has announced it is expanding into a new sector after a successful 2016 saw it double its turnover.
The family-run We do HR and We do Health and Safety is launching its new We do Learning and Development division to provide bespoke training programmes to clients based centered around major business topics.
The firm, which has now been operating for 14 years, will now begin offering courses in leadership, management, communication, conflict resolution and people-related development, along with its traditional HR and health and safety services.
Managing Director, Alasdair Ross, explained the company’s thinking when he said: “Learning and development is an area I’ve always supported with existing clients and now that We do HR and We do Health and Safety have established a steady growth, it felt like the perfect time to introduce an effective leadership and management development service.
“We anticipate keen interest in this new area of the firm, as we are known for delivering cost effective programmes that generate tangible results and we can now offer a full service for clients.”
The new division will be headed up by Ishrat Shaheen, who has been appointed as the firm’s HR, Training and Development officer, and will draw on her experience in the training industry and the HR management Masters she obtained at university.
Following her appointment, Shaheen commented: “I’m passionate about the business and the way it is growing in regards to HR and development. I like the way the firm values its employees and how it changes the way companies view HR.
“I’m really excited and I can’t wait to deliver training programmes and see how I can help We do Learning and Development grow.”
