Mumsnet, Nutmeg and Hybrid Air Vehicles among new scaleup cohort at LSE Elite

The London Stock Exchange has invited 17 new startups to take part in its LSE Elite programme, its capital raising and business advice network for high growth UK businesses.

Amongst the cohort are names already recognisable to many, including online parent network Mumsnet and Hybrid Air Vehicles, the UK firm currently developing a hybrid airship and has plans to raise £50m as part of an IPO later this year.

Other firms joining the latest cohort are investment platform Nutmeg, cycling firm Blaze and construction services firm ISG.

Started in 2012, the accelerator programme gives participating businesses access to LSE’s investor network and welcome them into the LSE Elite community, which includes UK stalwarts such as Naked Wines and British computer manufacturer Raspberry Pi.

Welcoming the new members, Umerah Akram, Head of ELITE UK said: “I’m excited to present the latest group of UK companies to join ELITE, a clear demonstration of the country’s ability to grow great businesses. These companies drive innovation, employment and create opportunities for us all.

“ELITE is committed to giving the British business stars of the future the very best chance to succeed, providing them with access to appropriate expertise and capital.

“It is a unique, strong community of the best and most dynamic entrepreneurs, advisers, investors and business school academics from the UK, Europe and around the world.”
