PR agency visits Chester students to discuss integrated PR and content marketing
Cheshire students preparing for careers in PR and marketing were given a PR masterclass and an insight into challenges faced by businesses.
Outwrite PR’s digital director Anthony Bullick visited the University of Chester to talk about modern day Public Relations (PR) and content marketing strategies.
The students are working on an assessment on current issues companies face in relation to marketing decisions.
And Anthony, who is a chartered PR practitioner, talked about three specific areas: strategy and objectives, content, and analysis and evaluation.
He also discussed the merging of disciplines leaving businesses unsure whether to speak to a digital marketing agency, a content marketing agency, or a PR agency.
Anthony said: “The talk went really well and it was encouraging to see so many students motivated to get into the marketing and PR industry.
“There are lots of issues facing the PR and marketing industry when it comes to carrying out campaigns and achieving business objectives, but with the correct knowledge and preparation problems can be avoided.
“I wish the students every success in both the assessment and their futures in PR and marketing”.
The presentation was Anthony’s latest university visit, having discussed the PR industry with students at Manchester’s Metropolitan University in September.
Anthony’s talk followed a visit to Chester’s University of Law, where he and Outwrite’s head of search marketing Derek Booth presented on integrated PR and SEO with the Cheshire and North Wales Law Society.
Anthony joined Outwrite in 2012 and was shortlisted for two industry awards in 2015. He also sits on the Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ North West committee, in addition to being on the committee Institute of Directors (IoD), and writes a four weekly column for the Daily Post.
