Manchesters iconic bar, ODD, goes up for sale
This foundation of Manchester’s Northern Quarter Bar and Restaurant scene is being made available on a lease hold basis, by the long-standing owner.
Odd bar opened its door in 2005 and the Odd chain has now grown to be arguably the most recognisable and popular bars in the Northern Quarter, gaining an enviable reputation for quality booze, crafted food and a quirky atmosphere.
The Odd Bar chain, which includes Odd’s neighbour, The Blue Pig, and Oddest Bar located in the trendy commuter village of Chorlton-cum-Hardy, have firmly established themselves as Manchester favourites over the last decade.
The bars are well placed to take advantage of the most vibrant area in Manchester, that is seeing a tremendous number of visitors and locals alike who are looking to soak up some of the authentic Manchester atmosphere that only the Northern Quarter can provide.
Cleo Farman, Owner of Oddworld, the company behind the chain said:
“I’ve achieved so much with these bars and I’m delighted to see how the Northern Quarter has developed since I first opened Odd. Knowing that the bars have contributed to that development of this incredibly unique area is very special. It’s time that I hand the reigns over to someone who can take the bars to the next stage of development, the sites have so much potential and lots more to give.
Benn Longshaw, of Sedulo Corporate Finance, representatives of ODDworld for the sale, said that the current owner feels like she has achieved more than what she set out to achieve and is now ready to undertake a new challenge.
“The bars are some of the best located in Manchester, with the Northern Quarter seeing phenomenal growth and Chorlton becoming one of the most desirable residential areas in Manchester. All the bars are set to take advantage of the overall growth of Manchester, as it improves its reputation as a tourist destination, increases its already huge student population and attracts more of those moving to work in the city.”
