Barclays backing fuels expansion plans for Ashington tyre shop

Ashington-based tyre shop Jubilee Tyre and Exhaust expansion has purchased its own premises following funding from Barclays.

Established in 2003 by Steve Armstrong and Russell Taylor, the business specialises in same day tyre and exhaust replacement and operates across Ashington, Guide Post, Pegsworth, Morpeth, Newbiggin, Blythe and Cramlington.

The funding from Barclays has assisted with the purchase of one of their previously rented units at Freeman Way, North Seaton Industrial Estate, Ashington.

Steve Armstrong, Partner, Jubilee Tyre and Exhaust, auto engineers said: “Starting our own business was a dream and it’s been rewarding to see the business grow and our customer base and our geographical reach expand with services throughout Northumberland.

“We were fortunate to purchase one of the units we use some time ago and with Barclays help we’ve now purchased the second unit.”

Russell Taylor, Partner, Jubilee Tyre and Exhaust, auto engineers commented: “It’s great that Barclays were able to help fund the new site which we will now own, securing the future of the business and taking us to the next phase of our growth plans.”

Jubilee Tyre and Exhaust employ four people locally.

Jane Brown, Barclays Business Manager put together the funding package for the deal and said: “It’s great to be able to support a local business that is thriving and expanding for the future. Steve and Russell are very experienced and operate a brilliant business. The future looks bright for this ambitious company.”
