Oakapple’s Ilkley office scheme now two-thirds let after securing another tenant
Leeds-based property developer, Oakapple Group, has secured its second 9,000 sq ft pre-let at their new Ilkley office scheme after securing local firm OnePay.
Oakapple’s development on Mayfield Road includes a 25,000 sq ft office portion which it is developing in conjunction with McCarthy & Stone ahead of its opening later this year.
The developer has already secured SmartSearch, which agreed the first 9,000 sq ft letting last month, with Ilkley-based OnePay, which provides alternative work payment solutions, now set to join the scheme, leaving just a third of available space remaining.
Oakapple Group Chairman, Philip Taylor, commented: “It is great to have agreed the second letting so soon after the first, and before work has started on site.
“We are looking forward to working closely with OnePay to support their growth and deliver them a high quality head office building by the end of the year.”
OnePay’s Managing Director, Lee Hartley, added: “We are delighted to have struck a deal to secure a floor within this prestigious office building in the heart of Ilkley. The new office will help to facilitate our continued growth as a business and we look forward to taking occupation.”
Matthew Brear of Dacres, who secured the letting, said that the company expected interest in the new development to be brisk, an assumption which has been vindicated by two major pre-lets.
He said: “We always expected demand to be strong for this scheme and our view has been vindicated by the agreement of two substantial pre-lets before work has started on site. We now have just the ground floor available which can be subdivided or put to a range of uses.”
Alex Jowett of WSB Property Consultants in Leeds acted on behalf on OnePay.
