Plans submitted to make Stanhope's 150 Leadenhall development even taller

Developers Mitsubishi Estate London and Stanhope have submitted plans to add another ten storeys to their landmark 150 Leadenhall development as they look to keep up with other recently approved skyscrapers in the City.

The pair revealed last month that they would be looking to increase the size of the Prussian Blue tower, which forms the highest part of the ‘stacked’ three building scheme, by 35m to 220m in height, in response to a trio of approved plans at a similar scale.

These include PLP’s 255m 22 Bishopsgate scheme, the 73-storey 1 Undershaft by Eric Parry Architects, which will be London’s tallest once complete, and Make’s £400m 36-storey 1 Leadenhall building which was approved in January.

Its revised plans for the 10, 25 and 50 storey scheme, which will also increase lettable space to 52,954 sq m, were open for public consultation but have now been submitted to the City of London planning committee according to Property Week.

If approved, the Square Mile would have yet another tall building jostling for prominence across London’s skyline, with the WilkinsonEyre-designed development set to stand alongside the Cheesegrater building.
