Countryside Appoints John Gilbert

Home builder Countryside has appointed John Gilbert (43) as Regional Operations Director to head up its new Midlands division.

John, a qualified Quantity Surveyor, joins the team with a wealth of property experience, having previously worked as Technical Director at Bellway and Commercial Director at Cala Homes Midlands.

He will play a crucial role in the growth and expansion of the company’s newest region, delivering against the ambitious forecast through strategic direction and reporting directly to Ian Kelley, Managing Director of Countryside’s Partnerships’ North division.

Based at the new Wolverhampton office, John, originally from Bromsgrove, will oversee the team of 30, with further plans to grow the region’s headcount.

Ian Kelley said: “John’s appointment is of strategic importance to the growth of our Midlands region and his values and approach are very much in line with the Countryside culture. I’m confident that his commercial aptitude and personable approach will help shape a very successful business.”

Having recently opened its Wolverhampton office, Countryside has already launched two new developments in Smethwick and Cradley Heath – with 194 homes now available on the open market.
