BOFA Partners with British Lung Foundation
~~A Poole-based company that leads the world in removing airborne hazards from the workplace is partnering with the British Lung Foundation (BLF) to raise funds to help combat respiratory disease.
BOFA International technology protects the health of many thousands of people across the globe by extracting harmful fumes and dust created during industrial processes.
“The British Lung Foundation plays a vital role in funding research into lung disease and we are delighted to support their work in an area of human health so closely linked to the application of our technology,” said BOFA’s Managing Director Tony Lockwood.
“We are proud of the positive effect of our systems on safety in the workplace, but we also know there’s more to do both to improve air quality in the wider environment and to make progress in the treatment of lung disease.”
Staff at BOFA have already started their fund-raising efforts, through a prize draw at the company’s recent 30th anniversary celebrations and by sponsoring Marketing Manager Sally Newman’s participation in the London Marathon. Sarah MacFadyen, Policy and Public Affairs Manager at BLF, said: “We fund vital research to find cures and treatments for lung disease and to provide support services and high quality health information for people living with a lung condition. Every year air pollution contributes to at least 40,000 early deaths. This is why the support of companies such as BOFA International is so important.”
