Beginner Challenge Returns to Leeds Golf Centre
Leeds Golf Centre, the UK headquarters of the prestigious Leadbetter Golf Academy, has announced the return of the Up to Scratch Challenge which will take 16 complete beginners and turn them into skilled golfers in just a matter of weeks.
Opening for entries today, amateurs can apply for a chance to take advantage of 14 free tuition sessions over 7 weeks from Leeds Golf Centre’s PGA Professionals and Certified Leadbetter Instructors, culminating in a knock out challenge.
Joe Feather, PGA Professional and Leadbetter Instructor at Leeds Golf Centre, explains; “We’re putting our expertise to the test for a second year running by demonstrating just what can be achieved under the tuition of our Leadbetter Golf Academy instructors. We received an overwhelming number of entries to last year’s Up to Scratch Challenge and it’s a great pleasure to build on the success of the competition and create something even bigger and better this year.
“We are very passionate about making golf a more accessible sport to beginners and those considering taking up a new interest and believe our first-class facilities and world class instruction provide an ideal environment to learn the game”.
Golfing novice Craig Bull from Seacroft, Yorkshire won the first ever Up to Scratch Challenge at Leeds Golf Centre in 2016. He described his win: “I’m sure I speak for everyone in the group when I say the tuition was phenomenal and it’s been hugely rewarding to go from a complete beginner to a confident player in just a number of weeks. The challenge has changed my whole perception of golf and I would strongly recommend playing.”
The chosen 16 beginners will receive 14 hours of tuition over a 7 week period throughout June and July, culminating in a three-hole knockout event, taking place on Sunday 23rd July at Leeds Golf Centre where they will showcase their newfound skills.
