Squire Patton Boggs announces promotion of four Leeds lawyers to partnership
Law firm Squire Patton Boggs has announced the promotion of four senior lawyers to the Leeds partnership.
David Holland (real estate litigation) and Tom Telford (financial services) joined the firm as trainees over 10 years ago and, along with David Chan (real estate) and Jonathan Ross (corporate), comprise this year’s newly promoted partners.
Mr. Holland is an experienced real estate litigation lawyer, advising on a range of property disputes, including commercial landlord and tenant matters, dilapidations claims, break options, breach of covenant issues, rights to light and residential tenancy disputes.
His particular expertise is in land compensation matters, specialising in compulsory purchase cases and in compensation matters arising from infrastructure projects, including in the rail, aviation, utilities and energy sectors.
A banking specialist, Mr. Telford acts for both banks and borrowers in acquisition finance, property finance, general corporate banking and asset-based lending. He also works on syndicated and cross-border deals and has experience in debt restructuring.
Mr. Chan advises on a range of property matters, with a particular focus on regeneration, development and energy work. He also advises on regulatory issues that affect public bodies on real estate transactions.
With experience in mergers and acquisitions and joint venture transactions, Mr. Ross has also worked in-house on secondment with Shell in London and BlueScope Steel in Melbourne, Australia. He has particular experience in the manufacturing, energy and resources and financial services sectors.
John Alderton, managing partner of Squire Patton Boggs in Leeds, said: “I would like to congratulate our new partners on their well-deserved promotions. Whether our lawyers are home-grown or joining us from other firms, we are focused on creating the right climate to enable them to flourish and establish long and successful careers.
“This latest round of promotions is testament to the achievements of our new partners and also the efforts of many people in the firm who have worked to support them on their journey. We wish them every continued success.”
