Arville reflects on its biggest TechTextil event yet
It took almost two years to prepare for Techtextil 2017, but it seems that the hard work has paid off for technical textiles specialist Arville.
The team has returned to the UK following a very busy four-day event at Messe, Frankfurt, which saw their stand (B53) packed out from start to finish. In fact, Arville attracted a record number of enquiries at the exhibition, from organisations in Germany, France, Italy and Turkey, to name just a few.
This means there’s little time to celebrate what was Arville’s most successful Techtextil to date, as attentions have turned to dealing with the varied customer requirements for technical fabrics that emerged during the show.
Arville’s Head of Marketing, Andy Smith, who led the preparation for this year’s show, explains: “We were extremely pleased with the success of the 2015 event, but our presence proved even more popular this time. We were absolutely inundated with visitors which, for me, demonstrates two key points .
“Firstly, there is a growing market demand for high quality, high-performance textiles that push new boundaries when it comes to durability, strength, chemical/heat/flame resistance, lightweighting and cost-reduction. And secondly, our customers recognise that we are well-equipped with the expertise and knowledge to bring these technically difficult materials to life. The particularly challenging specifications are those where we can really add value – for us, the more complex the better!”
Enquiries on the stand covered a wide mixture of end applications ranging from protective clothing and equipment, to reinforcements for rubber processing, military vehicle interior fit-outs, high pressure/temperature pharmaceutical filtration and many others. Some visitors had very specific weaving, coating or fabrication requirements, whereas others were delighted to discover that Arville could offer an integrated end-to-end solution .
“A very collaborative process will now follow, as we discuss each particular requirement in more detail with our customers ,” adds Andy. “We work as a partner supplier throughout the development process to ensure we deliver technical fabrics which are designed to maximise their performance. These are exactly the type of projects that have earned us the reputation as ’The Technical Textiles Specialist. “
More than 47,500 visitors from 114 countries came to the Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre from 9 to 12 May. 96% of Techtextil attendees said they were pleased with the results of their visit. The event will return again in 2019.
