Gateshead’s Petards wins £3m deal with multinational transport firm
Petards, a software developer of advanced security and surveillance systems, has won a £3m contract with Canadian multinational aerospace and transportation company Bombardier Transportation.
The Gateshead-based business will supply its eyeTrain systems to be fitted to five and ten car trains to be built by Bombardier.
Engineering activities will commence immediately with the first equipment deliveries starting in July 2017 and it is expected that the project will be completed in 2019.
Raschid Abdullah, Petards Chairman, commented: “We are delighted that Petards’ eyeTrain CCTV systems continue to be the system of choice for fitment to Bombardier’s AVENTRA trains.
“This new order adds to our already significant installed base and strengthens our position as the leader of on train video and data solutions.
“Additionally it further bolsters the group’s present order book for delivery in 2017 through to 2019”
