‘Mani and the Mac’ as the ‘Uber of Beauty’ arrives in Birmingham
blow LTD, often referred to as the ‘Uber of the Beauty world,’ is teaming up with one of the region’s leading social enterprises to announce its arrival in Birmingham.
The company, which offers expert fast beauty on demand services to your home office or location, is hosting a special ‘Mani and Macaroon’ evening at the Miss Macaroon shop on Thursday 25th May in a bid to boost the two brands and celebrate the city’s thriving independent retail offer.
Visitors to the store in the Great Western Arcade will receive tips from leading stylists, as well as enjoying a matching manicure and macaroon platter using colours derived from this year’s ‘Spring Summer Collection’.
This includes shades such as a bright bubblegum pink, peach, dark forest green, deep blue and mauve purple.
“We are always looking to collaborate with independent brands that thrive on doing things differently and in blow LTD we’ve found a perfect partner,” explained Rosie Ginday, Founder of Miss Macaroon, which uses the art of making macaroons to provide the long-term unemployed, ex-offenders or care leavers with vital training, employability skills and jobs.
“They liked the atmosphere of our store, the fact we can pantone match the colour of the macaroons to their shades and the fact that sharing a glass of Prosecco and macaroons adds to the whole beauty experience.”
She continued: “We are expecting a lot of interest in the event, which will take place between 5pm and 7.30pm on Thursday 25th. There will be a mix of five stylists and manicurists and the chance for the best selfie – featuring both brands – to win prizes.”
blow LTD has been creating quite a stir since its launch in London, where it has provided fast beauty on demand services to more than 100,000 of the capital’s most stylish, yet incredibly busy, women.
Its expert beauty team provide blow dry, make-up and nail services in customers’ homes, offices, hotel rooms or at events. Now the sought-after brand is bringing the ‘Uber of Beauty’ to Birmingham.
Beca Tufnell at blow LTD, added her support: “To celebrate our arrival in the UK’s second city we will be holding an exclusive ‘Mani and Macaroon’ event, complimentary fast and fabulous nails with every macaroon purchase…you can even Pantone match your nail colour with your macaroon!”
She continued: “Rosie is a phenomenal example of entrepreneurship within Birmingham and we are excited to join forces, as we believe she inspires both our independent team of professionals and women to look good, feel good and follow their passion.”
The Miss Macaroon shop, which seats eight people inside and a further six alfresco, offers visitors an ever-changing range of 30 different flavoured macaroons, all freshly hand piped, baked and hand filled at its dedicated kitchen in Hockley.
It has proved hugely popular with shoppers, workers and people living in Birmingham, whilst also living up to it social enterprise ethos by so far providing training for four long-term unemployed young people. This has already led to two of them taking on full time-jobs.
Rosie is looking to increase the firm’s retail coverage by announcing a series of new pop-up shops, starting with an appearance in the Bullring from June 1st-14th.
