Space appoints Paul Cope as Business Director
Creative agency Space has appointed Paul Cope as business director responsible for a portfolio of its clients including Heineken and Arla Foods.
Cope, formerly client services director at the Starbucks UK & EMEA on-site agency, is charged with leading client relationships and overseeing the strategic and creative output across his business group.
He will also support the agency’s managing partners, David Atkinson and Jason Nicholas, in attracting new business as Space looks to capitalise upon its recent growth.
The 30-strong independent agency, which grew its gross income by over 90% in 2016, provides its clients with a suite of creative services including advertising, digital, social media, shopper and experiential marketing.
Space recently created a 60“ TV commercial to support the global launch of the Glenfiddich Experimental Series and produced a virtual reality distillery tour for the whisky brand which is currently being activated across over 20 international markets.
The agency helped launch Arla B.O.B, recently voted Product of the Year in the dairy category, and was behind the multi award-winning Coral #CheltenHAM festival content marketing campaign.
Space has also been responsible for the prestigious Wimbledon brand experience since 2012 and delivered last year’s high profile UEFA Euro 2016 trophy tour across France.
Paul Cope comments: “Space has built a compelling proposition by putting its clients’ audience first rather than the channels that they use. The depth and breadth of commercial challenges that they help their blue-chip clients address, the types of creative solutions that they provide and the ambition and hunger of the team at Space make this such an exciting business to be a part of.”
Cope has worked in the communications industry for over 20 years and has extensive experience in creating both domestic and international campaigns for leading FMCG brand owners including Coca-Cola, Mondelez, PepsiCo, and Masterfoods.
In his new role, he will join the leadership team at Space and will report into managing partner, David Atkinson.
David Atkinson added: “Paul is a proven operator whose wealth of experience will be invaluable to our clients in helping them build their businesses. We’re delighted to have made such a high calibre addition to our senior team and look forward to the contribution that he will make to the agency’s future development.”
