SURFACE AREA DANCE THEATRE Celebrates 10th Birthday
In June 2007, Surface Area Dance Theatre based at Dance City in Newcastle was officially incorporated as a Community Interest Company.
To mark the occasion of their 10th Anniversary, the company is performing a dynamic evening of repertoire, which is open to the general public to attend. Artistic Director, Nicole Vivien Watson, has carefully selected highlights of Surface Area Dance Theatre’s repertoire including a dynamic evening of performances such as:
• An excerpt of Auricular returning to the region after touring in April 2017 to CCA: Glasgow, Gymnasium Gallery Berwick and Turner Contemporary, Margate.
• The staging of Project Godie by Vangeline, Director of the New York Butoh Institute.
• The reimagining of Nullius (2008) choreographed and performed by founding dance artists Joel Daniel and Molly Procter.
The evening’s celebrations will continue in Dance City’s Social Space with a live-set from The Old Police House.
Tickets are free of charge, but audience members can make a charitable donation to the North East branch of The Children’s Society - SCARPA. Please donate via Dance City’s ticketing system when booking your tickets.
