Engica in Gateshead Quays expansion

Software firm Engica has expanded to Baltic Place at Gateshead Quays, after taking a 10 year lease on 7,500 sq ft of space at the site’s East tower.

The business, which develops software used in the manufacturing, power generation, chemical and transport industries, believes the new site will help facilitate further job growth over the next 12 months.

Peter Strassheim, Managing Director at Engica commented: “The financial year 2016/17 has proved to be extremely positive for Engica.

“Fueled by significant contract awards from UK and overseas clients, Engica’s ongoing expansion plans meant that we needed to look for larger premises.

“The new office at Baltic Place in Gateshead not only provided a very professional office space but also has a fantastic outlook across the River Tyne which provides an excellent working environment with great transport links for both staff and customers.

“Working closely with a number of local businesses, including Gateshead Council, we managed to agree an overall package which provided a cost effective increase in space which was 50% larger than our previous office in Newcastle - creating room for planned growth.

“Following a smooth transition into the new office and following further contract awards we are now advertising for more staff.”
