Hoowla named a Tech Start-Up Disrupter
Hoowla is celebrating after their mission to shake up the legal industry with modern software is recognised when they were named as a tech disrupter for Business Cloud’s inaugural 101 Tech Start-up Disrupters list. The list, alongside the 101 Rising Stars, recognised companies the length and breadth of the UK which are using tech to disrupt traditional industries and have the ability to scale quickly.
Adam Curtis, Hoowla founder and managing director said: “Over the past few years, the Hoowla team have worked really hard. We have come up against a lot of challenges, some bad but a lot good and to be added to lists like this really keeps the motivation going. I am really proud of what we’ve achieved and the rate of growth we’re starting to see.”
Founded in 2013, Hoowla is a cloud based case management solution for all aspects of the legal industry. Designed and built from scratch by the Swansea based team, Hoowla is a full case management system which allows legal professionals to manage their work efficiently and automatically generate legal documents, submitting information to third parties such as HMRC and the Land Registry.
BusinessCloud editor Chris Maguire said: “When we began talking about this list last year we never imagined it would take off like it has. The calibre of the companies is absolutely unbelievable – you really wouldn’t believe some of the work these inspirational start-ups are doing and we feel very strongly that their work needs to be celebrated on a national platform.”
Companies from both lists attended a prestigious conference to hear from speakers in the tech sector about the secrets of a what successful start-up. Adam Curtis also took part in a roundtable of several of the companies on the lists to discuss life as a tech start-up and the challenges and opportunities faced.
