Let the public decide

Just when everybody thought the word ‘vote had been put back in its ballot box for the next four years, organisers of the 2017 North East Wildlife Photography Competition are calling on members of the public to vote in the People’s Choice Category of this years’ competition.

Northumberland, Durham and Tees Valley Wildlife Trusts, together with the Natural History Society of Northumbria, Great North Museum: Hancock and Alan Hewitt Photography are running the North East Wildlife Photography Competition for the fifth year, and, as with previous years, Nestlé is the main sponsor.

The competition has now closed for five out of the six categories, but the winner of the sixth category, the People’s Choice Award is yet to be decided and it’s the general public who can choose who will scoop the prize.

Voting begins at 9.00 am Thursday 15 June and closes at midnight on Thursday 29 June, and, it’s free! So nothing could be easier and there certainly won’t be any talk of a hung parliament. Votes can be placed by logging on at: www.northeastwildlifephoto.co.uk/poll/wildlife-portraits-the-public-vote The People’s Choice category is being sponsored by London Camera Exchange, which has an outlet on Gosforth High Street in Newcastle and John Whitehouse, store manager will be presenting the prize to the winner at competition’s awards ceremony at Great North Museum: Hancock in July.
