Manchester-based Now Healthcare Group secures £4m Medicash boost
Digital healthcare company Now Healthcare Group (NHG) has secured a £4m minority investment from Medicash, the health cash plan provider.
Manchester-headquartered NHG said the Medicash partnership will enable it to further develop its artificial intelligence and machine learning offer through its mobile app products and online pharmacy.
This in turn will allow for the faster development of its auto diagnoses and medicine adherence solutions.
NHG was established in 2015 by its CEO, Lee Dentith, and today encompasses the brands Dr Now, Now GP and Now Pharmacy.
The investment will also be used for the development of the firm’s private medical insurance offer and its upcoming NHS medicine adherence and fulfilment app.
NHG said the app-based healthcare platform will give as many as 15 million people living with chronic care conditions free access to medical professionals digitally.
NHG founder Lee Dentith said: “This investment and partnership is a fantastic opportunity for both NHG and Medicash to be able to develop new and exciting products for the insurance market in a live environment.
“Medicash will enable us to explore services and demands for both private individuals and companies, which can potentially provide a game-changing scenario for the digital private medical insurance market.”
He added: “We are aiming to test and develop products to over 100k business clients and over 100k private individuals.”
Medicash chief executive Sue Weir commented: “Medicash has enjoyed several years of growth and is always looking for new ways to innovate in the health cash plan sector.
“We are excited to be working with Lee and his team to develop new offerings to our policyholders. Healthcare delivery will change dramatically over the next few years, and we, at Medicash, want to be at the forefront of the evolution.”
