Morgan Sindall secures two-year Western Power contract extension
London-headquartered construction group, Morgan Sindall, has secured a two-year extension to its current agreement with Western Power Distribution which has seen it excavating and laying power cables across the West Midlands.
The two-year extension to its three-year framework agreement is worth up to £60m and builds on the initial agreement where Sindall were appointed to in November 2014 at an estimated annual value of around £30m.
The contract will see the construction firm continue to carry out excavation, cable laying and reinstatement works up until October 2019, assisting Western Power Distribution in maintaining and enhancing its electricity network.
Work will continue throughout the West Midlands including in Stoke-on-Trent, Telford, Tipton, Birmingham, Hereford and Ludlow, Worcester and Gloucester.
John Morgan, Chief Executive of Morgan Sindall Group plc, commented: “We are very pleased to have been awarded this contract extension, which we believe reflects the close and productive working relationships we have with Western Power Distribution, and the quality of the work we do.
“It also reflects the range of skills and capabilities we have in our Construction & Infrastructure division and its strong position for the future.”
