Teesside recycling firm to create new jobs with its cleaning services division

Total Recycling Services (TRS), the Teesside-based waste company, has announced the launch of a new industrial cleaning division along with the creation of new jobs.

The Darlington business is to create three new positions following the launch of its newly established cleaning services division after the business had received numerous requests from clients wanting help with their industrial cleaning.

It comes a little over a year after the business received a £6.7m investment from the Business Growth Fund (BGF) to support its growth and explore potential opportunities to expand its operating facilities.

At the time, the company also revealed that it had generated turnover of £14m in 2014 underlining the impressive growth the company has undergone since it was founded seven years ago.

Alex Foreman, Managing Director at TRS commented: “Total Recycling Services started as a waste company but we had so many requests from businesses to help them with their industrial cleaning, that we added the new division and created 3 new jobs.

“Our region has always had a strong petrochemical heritage but we’re now seeing a rise in engineering, life sciences and healthcare industries too. It’s an exciting time for the North East.”

Foreman has high hopes for the new division which he foresees capitalising upon the ongoing Tees Valley Strategic Economic Plan, which plans to deliver 2,000 new businesses to the region within the next ten years.

Not to mention the continued growth of some of Teesside’s manufacturing stalwarts, including Sirius Minerals and Hitachi, whose commitment to expansion in the region will also open up opportunities for local companies providing facilities management, waste and other services.

Foreman added: “The growth in the region is fantastic news and the majority of businesses have recognised they have a need for industrial cleaning, but there is still uncertainty on what they need to do comply with specific legislation.

“In response, we’re offering no-obligation advice for businesses that need assistance.”
