Recruitment firm races to raise funds for charity
STAFF from Skye Solutions Recruitment have secured places in this year’s Great North Run (GNR) to raise money for North East charity, Calvert Trust Kielder.
Employees from the Newcastle-based recruitment firm, plus some family and friends who have been specially ‘recruited’ to boost team numbers, will be tackling the half marathon on September 10th.
The team is hoping to raise over £2000 as part of its dedicated GNR fundraising which will go towards Calvert Trust Kielder’s GNR fundraising target of £20k for this year.
Calvert Trust Kielder is a registered charity which helps people with disabilities, together with their family and friends to achieve their potential through the challenge of outdoor adventure.
Catherine Little from Calvert Trust Kielder said: “We’re delighted to have Skye Solutions Recruitment signed up and ready to put some miles in for us! Their support and fundraising efforts are really appreciated - participating in the world’s biggest half marathon is a real challenge, so we really are very grateful.
“We rely purely on the generosity of companies and individuals, and actively encourage more businesses to get involved with our facilities through activity days, corporate team building or adventure holidays.
“A number of businesses and individuals are supporting us via the GNR this year but we also still have some spaces left – if you were unlucky in the ballot or feel like a challenge please get in touch and support us – it’s not too late!”
Skye Solutions Recruitment specialises in temporary and permanent recruitment for businesses across the North East and are happy to be supporting the charity.
Owner Sadie Seller said: “Over the last eight months I have been busy setting up my business, but I make time to support local charities.
“Calvert Trust Kielder has a special place in my heart - it helps thousands of people with disabilities take part in fun activities. Without the charity, people may not have the chance to enjoy outdoor adventure that we so often take for granted.
“Our team were lucky enough to visit Calvert Trust Kielder and see for ourselves what the donations are used for and we couldn’t think of a worthier cause to run for.
“We have all been training hard, the Great North Run will be a huge challenge, but a huge accomplishment too. The fact we’re doing it for a great cause will no doubt spur us all on.”
Places are still available for this year’s Great North Run. For further information call the fundraising team on 01434 250232.
