HURST cyclists gear up for Tour de Europe

A team from accounting and business advisory firm HURST will cycle through Belgium, France and the Netherlands later this month to raise thousands of pounds for Greater Manchester charity Mustard Tree. The 11 HURST riders will clock up more than 200 miles over three days. HURST alumni James Kean, a management accountant at Robinsons Brewery, and Adam Stirling, finance manager at car finance company Zuto, will also be taking part, along with Lana Yelina, who is on secondment at HURST from US accounting firm Moore Colson. The group will sail from Hull to Zeebrugge on Friday, June 30 and will return to the UK on Tuesday, July 4 after clocking up 346km (215 miles). During their trip – dubbed the ‘Brakes-it’ Tour de Europe – they will stop off at the Commonwealth War Graves Commission burial ground at Ramparts Cemetery in Flanders to pay their respects to soldiers killed on the Western Front during the First World War. The ride is being organised by HURST finance assistant Chris Kinsey and corporate finance executive Ryan Niblock. Mustard Tree, which is HURST’s charity of the year, supports homeless and other marginalised people across Greater Manchester. The cyclists are aiming to raise £7,000 for the charity.
