Virgin Media is bringing its small business pitching event to Grainger Street

The region’s entrepreneurs will soon have the chance to pitch their business ideas on Grainger Street after Virgin Media Business announced it was bringing its Voom Tour Bus to Newcastle.

Pitching up on the picturesque street on Thursday 6 July, businesses and entrepreneurs in the North East will be able to benefit from free mentoring, seminars and business advice provided by Virgin and some of their partners.

Representatives from the likes of ICAEW, JCDecaux, LinkedIn and Crowdfunder will all be on hand to provide advice for budding entrepreneurs and business owners hoping to take their businesses to the next level.

Virgin is also canvassing for people with a ‘great business idea’ to take part in their pitching competition, where participants will pitch to an expert panel to be in with a chance of winning £5,000 and a brunch with Sir Richard Branson.

Sir Richard Branson, Virgin Group Founder, said: “The Voom Tour is coming to seek out the brilliant entrepreneurs and ideas from Newcastle, and help break down the barriers to business success.

“The aim is to help them put aside their fears and take the next steps on what could be the most significant journey of their business life.”

Rob Orr, Executive Director, Virgin Media Business, added: “Whether you’ve already started a business and want some help, or need advice to help get a brand new venture off the ground, the Voom Tour is the perfect platform to prepare your business for the big time.

“We hope to see as many of Newcastle’s business community as possible join us in Newcastle town centre on 6th July.”
