Londoners in Zone 1 will soon be able to order birthday cake on-demand

London-based startup, CakeDrop, has launched a new service this week that has corralled some of the capital’s best independent bakeries to provide on-demand birthday cake deliveries to Zone 1 workplaces.

The service allows London’s office workers to bulk buy and schedule birthday cake deliveries via its online platform, with cakes hand delivered by CakeDrop’s bakery partners via the startup’s fleet of CakeTrikes.

Not only is the company hoping to banish those awkward office occasions when a co-worker’s big day passes everyone by, but the startup is also offering local businesses and bakeries with a new route to market and potential revenue stream.

Inaugural partners for the platform include Victoria Yum, South East Cakery, Sweet Tooth Factory, CakeFace, Butter Beautiful and Love Rosie.

Anna Ward, co-founder of CakeDrop, commented: “CakeDrop is about connecting the demand with the supply, supporting local businesses and ensuring London’s office workers get the finest quality cake our city has to offer.

“What’s more, we want to take the hassle out of office birthdays for employers, giving them an exciting and cost effective alternative to the last minute supermarket dash every time there is a birthday in the office.”
