The Harefield Academy partnership boosts access to sport and activities for local community

A new partnership between The Harefield Academy and School Lettings Solutions (SLS) will boost access to sports and performing arts facilities for thousands of residents across Uxbridge.

The Harefield Academy has joined forces with SLS to provide improved access to its outstanding sports facilities for the wider community. The school is part of the Sporting Excellence Programme and has partnerships with The English Institute of Sport and London Sport for its students.

The outstanding facilities include outdoor & Indoor 3G pitches and sports halls, as well as a theatre and dance Studio.

The alliance with SLS will enable people from all ages across the community to use the facilities, whilst enabling The Harefield Academy to earn extra revenue. SLS partners with schools, academies and colleges to manage their facilities at zero cost to them, whilst linking them with community groups in need of affordable space.

The Harefield Academy, said: “We’re proud of the exceptional quality of the sports facilities we offer, which have supported some outstanding students to go on to represent their countries at high levels.

“The partnership with SLS means our facilities are not lying unused in the evening and at weekends. As well as getting more of our students into after-school activities, it will help people from the local community to take up new hobbies. It will also help us to generate more income, which will be of benefit to students for years to come.

SLS currently works with more than 125 schools nationwide, helping them to make the best use of their facilities. The company provides a fully managed service, including managing bookings and staffing the facilities to ensure rooms are secure and ready for the next school day. SLS is expanding across the country and aims to sign-up more schools in the South East, which are currently facing hundreds of thousands of pounds of funding cuts.
