Sally's Cottages Nominated for 2017 British Travel Awards

Local Lake District holiday cottage letting agency, Sally’s Cottages, has been nominated in the prestigious British Travel Awards (BTA) for the third year running.

The Keswick-based company won silver in the category of Best Holiday Cottage and Self Catering Booking Company in both 2015 and 2016. Nominated in the same category for the 2017 awards, they are hoping to score gold this year.

The BTAs is the UK’s biggest holiday industry awards ceremony and is consumer led, with the winners of all award categories decided by a public vote. In 2016, over 1.3 million votes were cast for the nominated companies.

Sally’s Cottages, which was set up 14 years ago by Sally Fielding, will this year be up against 18 companies in the same category, all of who will be competing for the Gold, Silver and Bronze accolades.

Sally hopes to gain as much support as possible for her company’s nomination. “Winning Silver for two years has been an incredible achievement, but we are always looking at improving our personal customer service. Winning Gold would be further testament to the hard work of our team and the support of our customers.”

The cottage agency was the first in Cumbria to introduce third party reviews on their website. “We wanted to be completely transparent on our website,” explains Sally. “Displaying independent reviews helps future and current customers ensure that they can continue to receive the best service from Sally’s Cottages.”

The nomination in the British Travel Awards 2017 marks the third award nomination so far this year for Sally’s Cottages. The company won the Cumbrian Family Business Awards in March and was shortlisted in the National Family Business Awards in June.

BTA chief executive Lorraine Barnes Burton said: “The British Travel Awards give consumers the opportunity to reward travel and tourism enterprises for outstanding performance in service delivery and product offering. Voting in the 2017 Awards is now open and nominated companies have until 30th September to lobby their happy customers for votes.”

The successful companies will be announced at an awards ceremony on the 29th of November. Votes can be cast via the British Travel Awards website.
