Target Talk Digital Innovation In Manufacturing

Target Information Systems discuss providing innovative solutions to Coca-Cola European Partners at the first Connected Manufacturing event at the Barnsley Digital Media Centre.

Connected Manufacturing is the first series across Yorkshire designed to show how digital technology can help improve efficiency and productivity in manufacturing.

Guest speakers in manufacturing and technology were to discuss how using digital solutions in their organisations is transforming their production and quality processes to drive improvement through the supply chain to achieve savings.

Phil Atkinson, Managing Director of Target were proud to join Coca-Cola European Partner’s Senior Manager of Quality, Environment, Safety & Health, Sharon Gollan for the event, to explain how Target are helping the large manufacturing site with data automation, facilities management and supplier onboarding to deliver control, visibility and compliance.

Target provides Coca-Cola’s largest bottling plant in Europe with their Contracts Management System, Accord and Visitor Management & Contractor Compliance System, Gatehouse. The Barnsley based software company presented alongside Coca-Cola to more than fifty companies to discuss how digital technology and innovative systems are transforming the way manufacturing companies handle day to day activities.

Sharon Gollan from Coca-Cola was keen for other organisations to embrace digital technology to help improve their productivity and competitiveness; she described how Target had helped them significantly as they were able understood how the company worked to adapt the systems accordingly.

The event also included speakers from Siemens Digital Factory, Naylor Industries, Stainless Plating and Valuechain. Speaker topics focused on data gathering and monitoring, data analytics, information management and reporting, connected devices, smart software solutions and the Internet of Things.

Connected Manufacturing is a programme run by the Digital Media Centre and Enterprising Barnsley, the economic development arm of Barnsley Council. It is part of a Yorkshire-wide initiative led by Digital Catapult Centre Yorkshire, which is running further tailored events across the region.

Set up in 2010 by co-directors Phil Atkinson and Daryl Greensill, Target currently occupies the biggest single unit at Barnsley Business and Innovation Centre (BBIC) at Wilthorpe.

Target works with clients such as Wavin UK, a number of NHS Trusts, Kier Group, The British Library, 2K Games and House of Fraser.
