Gym chain acquires space in bustling Newcastle business corner
Family-owned health and fitness business ABFIT is set to open an Anytime Fitness gym in Newcastle, following a six figure funding package from HSBC.
The new 24-hour gym, part of the global Anytime Fitness franchise, will open this summer, situated beside Newcastle’s Central Station.
Finance from HSBC will support ABFIT’s operational costs including staff wages, helping the new gym generate five full-time jobs, including an on-site manager, and providing work for a number of local personal trainers.
Anthony Patterson, Director and founder of ABFIT, spent more than 20 years working in the legal sector before changing career. Having lost six stone and discovered a passion for a healthier lifestyle, Anthony was inspired to launch a gym of his own with his wife, Tracy.
Anthony Patterson explained: “The financial support received from HSBC has been incredibly helpful, allowing us to realise our business ambitions whilst raising our young children.
“Our unique offering is an untapped niche here in Newcastle and we’re excited to be leading the way, establishing a high end product right in the heart of the city.”
