This Yorkshire fabrication company has just acquired a new facility in Leeds

Yorkshire-based fabrication company, Leeds Welding Company, has acquired a new building in Leeds in a move that it said would create ‘several’ jobs.

The firm, which currently employs over 100 people, has acquired the new 33,000 sq ft building which will complement the company’s current 67,000 sq ft headquarters at Westland Square in the city.

The new facility is set to house new sub-contract robotic welding cells, which LWC said will help to increase capacity for fabricated assemblies when it opens by the end of 2017.

Richard Eaglen, Managing Director at LWC commented: “This is a huge investment for us and is a direct result of our strong business growth. The new building will give us the opportunity to expand our workforce to ensure that our high customer service standards are maintained.

“We employ highly skilled people in all aspects of fabrication from design to delivery of goods ensuring we offer value for money and great customer service.

“We will continue to invest in equipment and technology to ensure that we stay at the leading edge of our industry, maintaining our reputation for quality products with a service to match.”

The acquisition has also been complemented by the appointment of a new Production Director with chartered engineer Ian Verity joining the firm as it continues its investment push.

Following his appointment, Verity said: “I am really looking forward to working with Leeds Welding, this is a fantastic company that has seen year on year growth and are now investing money back into the local economy with this new building which will be ready by the end of 2017.

“I’ve joined the business at a time of huge development and investment and there is a lot to do to make sure that the logistics and systems have a flow that will capitalise on the investment and make the business really fly.”
