Community support scheme which gives Cheshire East organisations chance to win grants of £500 is now open
A community support scheme which gives charities, voluntary groups and not-for-profit organisations across Cheshire East the chance to win grants of £500 is now open.
Equilibrium Asset Management has run the scheme since 2015 and awarded almost £10,000 in funds to community groups to date.
The scheme serves to support organisations in the community which help disadvantaged people, promote sport and the arts, support education and development and benefit the environment in Knutsford, Wilmslow and Macclesfield.
The winner in round one of the 2017 community support scheme, which ran between January and April, was Macclesfield Seals Disabled Swimming Club.
Macclesfield Seals Disabled Swimming Club is a local swimming club founded in 1957 for children and adults with any disabilities.
Wilmslow headquartered Equilibrium Asset Management says applications to the second round of this year’s community support scheme can be submitted up until September 17.

Colin Lawson, Founder and Partner of Equilibrium Asset Management, said: “We consider ourselves very fortunate to be in a position to run a Community Support Scheme that offers funding which many organisations need to continue the excellent work that they do.
“With a number of different grants available, we hope charities, voluntary groups and not-for-profit organisations across Cheshire East will submit applications as it’s a good chance to win funding which can be used to benefit the communities they serve.”
The community support scheme is one of a number of initiatives the financial planning expert runs as part of its charitable foundation, which aims to raise £250,000 for local charities by 2020.
Applications are reviewed quarterly, with grants awarded ranging from £100 to £500. The scheme only considers applications from groups whose work benefits the local community.
Projects that promote party political activities or religious causes, projects that benefit or involve animals and commercial enterprises are not accepted.
