Ground Six’s digital muscle powers sales surge at Newcastle eco-friendly wholesaler
Newcastle-based Tango Group, a green energy product distributor, has been given a real charge and boost, following a recent acquisition and subsequent digital transformation of its business.
Acquired last year by Gosforth-headquartered digital and creative firm Ground Six, the wholesaler specialises in eco-friendly product distribution to businesses in and around the UK.
Now reaping the rewards of a revamped online proposition, which has seen 70 new products introduced to its customers in the past 7 months, the business has enjoyed a three-fold increase in sales orders on the back of its new and improved online offering.
Director Martin Stanley explains: “We understand the potential that digital brings to every sector and marketplace and saw the Tango Group acquisition as an opportunity to use our expertise.
“We’re delighted to strengthen an already successful business, which offers genuine environmental value through its existing and new product range.”
Introducing more modern and energy efficient products to its distribution list, coupled with its new website, Tango’s product portfolio features the best and most up to date green products on the market according to Mr. Stanley.
Tango’s products use alternative energy sources such as wind-up, water and solar power and include torches, radios, garden lights and educational toys.
The company supplies prestigious customers across a broad range of sectors including John Lewis, Maplin, British Gas, Anglian Water, British Red Cross and the Natural History Museum, with core brands including PowerPlus, Ecosavers and H2O.
Currently in the process of scaling the eco-friendly enterprise further, Ground Six is expanding Tango’s product portfolio at present while actively researching and developing its own in-house products to cultivate a long term inhouse brand.
Mr Stanley continues: “Innovation is at the heart of everything we do at Ground Six and it’s really exciting to see what the team is bringing to Tango, especially with the new eco-friendly products we continue to add and develop to our product range.
“We’re known for developing digital solutions and investing in tech companies with social purpose. With the inhouse skills we have at our disposal, it felt right to lend them to a business which is more product-led yet shares our tech for good ethos.”
