Budding female entrepreneur takes Newcastle recruitment startup to next level

One year on from relocating to the North East to start a recruitment business, 26-year-old Sadie Seller is putting expansion plans into practice.

Outgrowing her current Quayside base, Sadie is taking on larger office space in the Ouseburn Gateway as well as bolstering her team with three new trainees.

The business, which homes in on sales, marketing and legal roles, was set up last year after Sadie sought to start a business in Newcastle after leaving London.

She explained: “I realised the fantastic opportunities Newcastle could offer in terms of its growing business sector and decided to take advantage of them.

“Right from the outset I had a passion to succeed in recruitment and exploit a gap in the market for a really cost-effective recruitment service.

“I also set myself the challenge to set up a business which didn’t make our candidates feel like just a number. We will always have their best interests at heart.”

Originally from a sales background and with over five years of experience in recruitment, Sadie says she plans to keep the business in the region, providing a cost-effective recruitment solution in the SME marketplace.

The company’s new trainee consultants will start work in Autumn, while Sadie also plans tio extend the firm’s services.

She continued: “Setting up Skye Solutions and being successful has taken many long nights, early starts and a lot of demanding work but the pride in saying you work for yourself is one of my key motivators.

“I have also found support through the Chamber HR advice and networking. It is a really useful way to get professional expertise make new contacts.”

Lynsey Fairless, North East England Chamber of Commerce senior relationship manager, added: “Sadie is a perfect example of a female entrepreneur.

“She has achieved a tremendous amount in the last year and her potential will undoubtedly see her growth plans flourish as well.”
