Emerson & Renwick said sales have leapt since the November launch of its new Genesis platform

Accrington-based Emerson & Renwick reveals US growth with new deals worth £40m

Lancashire engineering firm Emerson & Renwick has secured a raft of US orders worth £40m.

The Accrington-based coating equipment company said sales have leapt since the November 2016 launch of its new Genesis vacuum coating platform.

Emerson & Renwick’s latest string of contracts with American businesses includes a £10m order for delivery later this year from a new customer in Silicon Valley, and another worth over £30m for delivery in 2018.

The deals follow on from a £1.5m investment in the Technology Centre at Emerson & Renwick’s Peel Bank base.

Colin Hargreaves, chairman of Emerson & Renwick, said: “There are exciting times ahead for us and for a number of other companies who supply key components to us.

“These contracts will require a substantial amount of sub-contract work to be placed with businesses in the Hyndburn area and across Europe.”

He continued: “We will be investing in additional capital equipment and further recruitment of personnel to ensure that we meet the necessary delivery schedules.”

“The board is delighted that the decision just four years ago to develop an offer in the vacuum coating sector is creating such interest. We have seen year-on- year growth in sales in this time, but these contracts bring a different dimension.”
