Charity dinner raises £2000 to enhance the lives of disabled people in the UK

A Daventry-based disability charity has raised over £2000 at its annual gala dinner to continue its work supporting people with an acquired physical disability as a result of an accident or birth injury.

Set up in 2012 by Bush & Company founder Paul Bush, who suffered a serious spinal cord injury in 1975, The Paul Bush Foundation Trust hosted a fundraising evening which included a three-course meal, live music and a charity raffle on Wednesday 5 July at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel.

Helen Jackson, Managing Director at Bush & Company, said: “This year, our gala dinner took place ahead of the company’s annual conference and we were delighted to see so many representatives from the health and legal sectors come together to raise vital funds for the Trust.

“The money will enable us to continue to support a variety of worthy causes that enhance the lives of those with a disability, from individual donations that support a person’s specific needs to boosting funds for research into pain management and rehabilitation. Thank you to everyone who attended and donated so generously.”

This was the first gala dinner for the Trust since the sad passing of founder Paul Bush in April this year, and was a particularly poignant evening for all involved.

Helen added: “Paul’s life was framed by determination, tenacity, kindness, loyalty and a great sense of humour. In business, he was a true gentleman and this was the foundation of his success as well as humility, professionalism and ambition.”

Since October 2012, the Trust has donated a total of £326,687.21.
