XLMedia plots American expansion with multi-million pound price comparison acquisition
Digital performance marketing firm XLMedia has paid $7m for a US price comparison website as it looks to extend its reach in North America.
The content and search engine optimisation (SEO) group, which owns a portfolio of over 2000 websites across a range of verticals, has acquired www.Moneyunder30.com, a price comparison website for financial services focused on the US market.
Focused on young adults, the site provides information and guidance to help users make financial decisions, particular in financial products such as credit cards, loans, mortgages and savings accounts.
XLMedia said that the acquisition will be immediately earnings enhancing once it goes through and marks a continuation of their strategy of expansion across the Atlantic, coming off the back of the acquisition of Canadian credit card comparison site www.Greedyrates.ca.
Ory Weihs, Chief Executive Officer of XLMedia, commented: “We are delighted to have extended our North American reach with the acquisition of MU30, which complements our existing publishing assets in the financial services sector.
“As a leading personal finance review site, MU30 is a known publisher in the US, and with its existing footprint and brand recognition, it represents an excellent opportunity for XLMedia to increase its North American presence and expand within the financial services market.”
