Reality HR announced as Finalist in Prestigious Regional Awards
Hampshire-based HR Consultancy, Reality HR, has been announced as a finalist in the Enlightened Employer category of The Women in Business 2017 Awards run by the regional magazine, The Business.
The Awards recognise successful women who have excelled in their specific business and profession. The Enlightened Employer category specifically focuses on companies of any size that have shown exceptional commitment to gender equality in the workplace. Companies entering this category must demonstrate a forward-thinking, proactive and creative approach to enabling women to realise their full potential.
Reality HR Managing Director, Laura Davis is delighted with the news which, in many ways, is payback for the hard work she has put into building the company over the last 13 years. The business grew steadily in the first few years until Laura acted on her hunch that there must be many experienced HR professionals who have taken career breaks to raise families; many may not be able to, or want to get back on the corporate treadmill for a variety of reasons.
Laura developed the Reality HR Flexible Working Hour’s model giving all team members the flexibility to manage their working lives around their family commitments. The business has grown significantly over the years and provides an outsourced HR function to more than 100 clients across the South. Laura now has a team of 16 highly qualified and very loyal HR specialists who give above and beyond the call of duty, often dealing with client emergencies in the evenings or at weekends from home.
Laura commented: “This is excellent news for Reality HR. I have always been very committed to employing the very best talent for the business and realised very early on that many of those skills were held by Mums. Our Flexible Working Hour’s model has worked well for the team, the business and most importantly, our clients, who often tell us how much they appreciate being able to contact consultants at flexible times.”
Reality HR now has to wait until 21 September to find out the results of the Women in Business Awards, which will be announced at a glittering ceremony at Oakley Hall, Basingstoke.
