IHUB LAUNCHES EXCITING NEW EVENT AND CONFERENCE SPACE

Derby’s award-winning iHub is consolidating its position as a regional centre for innovation with the launch of an exciting new conference and events space.

Designed to provide flexible workspace for start-ups, early stage businesses and established high growth SMEs in the transport engineering sector, the £12m iHub also boasts a stunning ‘heart’ space situated at the core of the building.

This bright and airy multi-functional space is complemented by the building’s stunning atrium and state-of-the-art design, making it the ideal venue for a variety of events, meetings and conferences.

The iHub’s conference and meeting space is open to tenants and non-tenants and can cater for up to 150 people. It boasts the latest equipment, including multi-media PC, video conferencing equipment and digital white boards, offering a smart alternative to the traditional flip chart. Free super-fast broadband is also available.

With direct links to the A50 and just five minutes from the M1, the iHub sits at the heart of the UK and is the ideal location for nationwide access.

The ‘heart’ space has already played host to a number of high profile events, including the launch of the University of Derby’s new ‘Innovation through Collaboration’ programme, which was unveiled to 100 business leaders.

ENSCITE, an organisation which offers a range of support services to the iHub tenants, stages a series of regular events at the building. It recently held two two-day Innovation in Business and Operations and is currently hosting a series of digital marketing workshops at the iHub.

Commenting on the launch of the event and conferencing space, Councillor Martin Rawson, deputy leader of Derby City Council and Cabinet Member for Regeneration and the Economy, said:

“Derby City Council is excited about the development of this project which is crucial in helping to support businesses in the city to develop and flourish.“

Connect Derby manager Ann Bhatti, added:

*“The iHub is building on the city’s reputation for creating cutting-edge ideas and this innovative events space is no exception.

“We and look forward to attracting a diverse range of events from across the Midlands and further afield in the coming months.”*

The iHub, which is part of the Connect Derby managed workspace scheme, has Enterprise Zone status and is the centre piece of Infinity Park, the new 100-acre manufacturing focused commercial and technology site, strategically located between Sinfin and Chellaston, to the south of the city.

It is close to the world headquarters of Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace and within 15 minutes of OEMs including Bombardier, Toyota and JCB, with direct links to the A50 and M1.

The iHub offers a supportive and collaborative environment to enable businesses to innovate, grow and develop. It provides high quality, flexible workspace for start-ups, early stage businesses and high growth SME’s looking to expand their role within the transport engineering and hi-tech sectors.
