A new restaurant has opened in Soho with a rather eye-catching name

A new eatery on the site of former Soho institution Arbutus has opened its doors carrying a rather eye catching name on its frontage.

The debut Flavour Bastard restaurant, which has been founded by restaurateur Vic Singh and executive chef Pratap Chahal, encompasses 2,560 sq ft of space at 63-64 Firth Street and has derived its menu from across different cultures and cuisines.

The so-called ‘cuisine-agnostic’ menu has been assembled by Chahal with a AfroditiKrassa-designed interior that includes a 20-seater bronze bar.

The opening comes after Arbutus closed late last year following ten years in Soho serving up its Parisian-style affordable fine dining.

Shelley Sandzer acted on behalf of Arbutus in the deal.

Leo Feldman, partner at Shelley Sandzer, said: “Flavour Bastard were looking for a quirky site in Soho to launch their concept and create an exciting dining experience, which is why we showed them the Arbutus site.

“Arbutus was an institution in Soho and we hope that Flavour Bastard can experience as much success on Frith Street as their predecessors.”
