Vantage Scales Yorkshire Heights For The Prince's Trust
A team of walkers from Harrogate-based Vantage Motor Group will take on the gruelling 24-mile Yorkshire Dales Three Peaks Challenge next month in an effort to raise £10,000 for The Prince’s Trust, the UK’s leading youth charity which has helped 825,000 into work, education or training.
Vantage Managing Director Mark Robinson will lead the team on the Three Peaks expedition on 15 September. The team of seven aims to complete the challenge, which will see them scale 1,585m of ascent across Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in the Yorkshire Dales, in less than 10 hours.
Last year, Vantage became a Patron of The Prince’s Trust and Mark Robinson also joined The Trust’s Regional Development Committee for Yorkshire and Humber.
Mark said: “I am continually inspired by the work of The Prince’s Trust in helping disadvantaged young people across the country improve their life-chances.
“As a business, we have a responsibility to be part of the communities where we operate and I am very proud of each member of the team for volunteering to take part in this tough challenge where we hope to raise a significant amount of money for this extremely worthwhile cause. I’m sure we will all pull together as a team to complete the challenge, and hopefully in less than 10 hours!
“I recently gave a talk to a group of young people attending the Trust’s Enterprise Programme in Leeds and left feeling overwhelmed and inspired by the passion, dedication and desire to succeed in that room.”
Together with Mark, the full team comprises Operations Director Andrew Mallory, Financial Director Tim Swindin, Aftersales Director Dale Baker, Group Financial Controller James McGlashan, Toyota Tamworth Sales Manager Mark Spindley and Honda Barnsley Assistant Accountant Adele Bryant.
Vantage Motor Group was founded in Harrogate, North Yorkshire in 2003. The Group now has over 600 employees and 25 dealerships across Northern England and the West Midlands representing Toyota, Kia, Citroen, Honda, Hyundai, ŠKODA, Mazda and Lexus. It posted a record turnover to the end of 2015 of over £200m.
