Salford Shopping Centre helps to raise over £500 for Kidscan charity
More than £500 has been raised in Salford Shopping Centre for local charity, Kidscan which will help to continue research into new and improved treatments for children with cancer.
On Saturday 12th August, shoppers dug deep to raise some much-needed funds for Kidscan who took to Salford Shopping Centre in a bid to bucket collect.
Leading volunteer, Sarah Nicholson and friends, drummed up support from passing shoppers throughout the day as they managed to raise the fantastic amount of £306.58 in cash. This was then brought to a grand total of over £550 as Salford Shopping Centre donated £250.
Centre Manager, Sabri Marsaoui commented, “We always strive to raise awareness for local charities and to build fantastic relationships with the surrounding community.
“Kidscan rely entirely on contributions so it’s wonderful to see our shoppers getting involved in fundraising for a deserving charity and an organisation that we were more than happy to make a donation to.”
Kidscan’s Director of Development, Ged Carter added, “It was wonderful to see how generous the shoppers of Salford were as we couldn’t do it without the support of donations.
“We were overjoyed to have such a positive response at Salford,so much so, that a local made a special trip back to us to donate his spare change jar which we believe amounted to around £40!”
